About Benefits of Vertical Green Walls

Will having a Green wall benefit your health? Certain other forms of urban greening like constructing green roofs and planting more trees can help contribute to good health. However green roofs can provide a whole host of benefits to the building you work in, the area in which you live and also the environment.

Here are a list of some we have chosen.

Stress Less. No matter you believe it or not, the plants and greenery used in the walls have been proven to have a calming effect on people whilst having a positive impact on some stress related illnesses.

Productivity. Some productivity rates have increased in workplaces which have an access to a view of natural settings. These people have been documented to have greater job satisfaction too.

Hospital Recovery Rates. Studies have shown that just by having a lovely view of plants and greenery, patients recovery process in the hospital has increased. I know what I would prefer to be looking at whilst spending time in hospital.

Positive Impact. Studies also show that buildings which feature and display access to vegetation have been shown to have a more positive impact to human health than the buildings which just promote stone walls.

Noise Reduction. When it is constructed with a growing medium support it can also block out some of the low – frequency noises, green walls or roofs can block out high frequency sounds and. That is why we see a lot of green life along by railways and motorways.

Urban Agriculture. When you have a vertical wall greening garden you can grow small fruits, vegetables, flower, plant and herbs. Urban Agriculture is a great source of environmental benefits.

Improve Our External Air Quality. Green walls are able to help mitigate air pollution levels. The way in which they do this is by lowering extreme hot summer temperatures. This process is called photosynthesis, they trap particles of matter and capture the gases. The green walls help to provide thermal insulation for buildings and homes which is great for us as it saves on power but also as a result of this there is fewer polluting by-products being released into our atmosphere.

These are just some examples as to why Green Walls or Living Walls are good for us and our wellbeing. We all have a lot of stress in our lives, and this could be reduced and we could have a boost of productivity at work with a positive outlook on life just through a little careful planning and assistance.
